Bundled for easy, versatile, and accurate stereo piano miking in studio, live sound, and broadcast applications, the Audix SCX25APS features two Audix SCX25A large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones, two DFLEX all-purpose mounting clips, two quad-conductor XLR mic cables, and an aluminum road case. With its low-profile, lollipop-style form factor, the SCX25A allows optimal placement, even when the piano lid is closed or in the short-stick position. Plus, the mic's transparent sonic performance makes it well suited for realistic capture of the acoustic piano's complexities.

Thanks to the patented capsule suspension system, the capsule is completely decoupled from the body, so vibrations traveling through the mounts won't disturb the diaphragm. The SCX25A's cardioid polar pattern reduces the pickup of bleed from other instruments while producing minimal proximity effect and maintaining consistent tonality on- and off-axis. Capable of accepting SPLs up to 135 dB without distorting, the mic ensures a clean and detailed sound.

Perfect for Piano
Reproduction of piano sound is extremely challenging, particularly during live performances when sound from other instruments bleeds into the piano microphones. To circumvent sound leakage, the piano is often played in the short-stick or closed-lid positions. The SCX25A's low profile, accurate tone, and phase-coherent reproduction make it the optimum piano microphone for live sound or broadcast environments.

DFLEX Mounting Clips
To further enhance the ease of placement, two DFLEX mounting clips accompany the SCX25A and can be easily attached directly to the piano rail, enabling the SCX25A to be securely placed anywhere on the soundboard.

Quad-Conductor Cables
This pack includes two high-quality, quad-conductor microphone cables with braided shielding, which helps reduce noise induction from external sources.

Patented Capsule Suspension System
Uniquely shock-mounted within an intricate machined brass ring, the capsule is completely isolated from the mic body and electronics. By successfully minimizing acoustic reflections and diffractions, the SCX25A delivers a pure, open-air sound with exceptional detail and realism.

Minimal Proximity Effect
The SCX25A is consistent when responding to on and off-axis signals. This mic exhibits outstanding phase coherence and minimal proximity effect. With a wide cardioid polar pattern, the SCX25A enables the sound engineer to blend the sound of the instrument or vocal with the sound of the room. The SCX25A large-diaphragm microphone will handle SPLs in excess of 135 dB and provides up to 20 dB of ambient noise rejection.
